New Homesteader Support
How we can help
Maybe you have met them. Maybe you are such an individual. You know who I mean....

The bright eyed and eager convert to country living who has uprooted their family to pursue that most of American of dreams... Moving to the country on just a small piece of land or perhaps a sizable estate.

Or maybe your version is more along the lines of increasing your environmental consciousness and decreasing your waste and carbon footprint.

Perhaps, during Covid you realized you would just like to get outside more and experience life on the land, so now you have a beautiful country home and would simply like to explore what type of profitable enterprise you can begin on your arable and grazable land.
If so, I would love to work for and support you. Reach out and we can set aside a time for a farm consultation. I will put my 20 plus years of knowledge, trial and error, and all the blood, sweat, and tears I have poured out at your disposal.
My story is that of the city girl who always longed for the country and then loved living that life for many years. My kids thrived as they grew up close to the land, their pets, and all the farm life realities. Now they are better prepared to face the challenges of growing up in our uber connected and technology driven world because they have seen the stark realities of life on the farm and experienced its carefree joys as well.
I have experienced much trial and error and then complete reevaluation and reset of practices and farm infrastructure along the way. I would love to help support and guide you wherever needed. Perhaps teaching your family about how to raise and process your own food, how to add back nutrients to your depleted soil naturally, or how to best utilize your unique land layout.

Please explore the rest of this site to see some of my areas of knowledge and expertise and contact me so we can discuss how I can best serve you. I always seek to learn new ideas every day, so if I do not have the knowledge needed to support you, I will do the research necessary to learn what I need to know to help or to connect you with someone else who can help you better.

Also, don't let the fact that you live in the city limit your farming or ranching dreams. We started out with a chicken coop in our suburban backyard about 20 years ago so please reach out for ideas and creative approaches to urban farming.

Testimonials
“I can’t say enough how helpful Catherine has been to us!!! We moved to 20 acres about 7 years ago, but began the steep learning curve of homesteading when our son & daughter in law began living on the same property about 4 years ago.
Catherine came out a few times, educating and putting up electric fencing for us. She even let us borrow hers to try it out!! We knew nothing before.
Catherine went to the ranch store with me to purchase all I needed so I wouldn’t miss anything. She helped with moving goats, looking at our set up for chickens, ducks, & goats(& 1donkey).
Catherine is a hard worker, extremely knowledgeable & experienced, and above all, very patient! I can highly recommend her for help with the animals, fencing, and just all around wealth of knowledge about farm/ranch living. "
